Konami being a literal patent troll leaving a trail of destruction in half the rhythm game industry over things as stupid as 'press a button at the correct time corresponding to the assigned lane'. in fact, the opposite end of that spectrum would be f.e. Just to preface this before we move onward i am not against copying great game systems and iterating on them, because that's where innovation comes about. woe is me because that morbid curiosity gradually developed into an investment in, as mentioned, seeing how far this rabbit hole goes, while also actually finding that i was having a decently good time So out of very morbid curiosity and since i love the building in Valheim i decided to check it out. (for reference, this is what COGNOSPHERE, likewise established in Singapore's function is for miHoYo) the fact that it seemed, from the trailer, a copy of a very successful indie game that had insane word of mouth over its building mechanics (valheim) juxtaposed with a copy of what may be currently the most successful gacha of all time (Genshin Impact) has my curiosity piqued from an industry back-end standpoint- is this game actually going to take off? is it a proverbial cash-grab? can it actually deliver on its premise? who knows!Ī cursory google search reveals that this is a Seasun Games endeavour, a pretty established Chinese company that also recently started operations in Singapore, presumably to handle international business. Had a good laugh, moved on then it started getting mentioned again in online circles (at least, the local ones which are predominantly f2p games) and i realized that it'd both been in betas and was coming out soon (being yesterday). (this is not even touching on the very BOTW music in the trailer, lol)
